Default Evaporator tubes

The nipple for my evaporator tube (the one by the mouth of the intake
manifold facing to the driver's side) broke off.

What are evaporator tubes good for, what do they do exactly?

Can I just plug this up or should I fix this properly.

what is an "evaporator tube" you have no responses because we don't know what your talking about? a pic? if it attaches to the maniflod then it is a vacume line and yes you better get it fixed. I know this is hard, but think about it? Did the builders of this car just put something there that you could "simply plug' and do without?

Okay pics. Red arrow is where the nipple broke off, green is the piece that was attached to it.
I took a screenshot off the parts 8 and 9. I'll take better pics later, but basically part 8 comes from somewhere by the firewall(purple arrow) around where the fuel line comes from runs to this little canister thats bolted to the front of the passengers head(yellow).
From this canister it then goes to the intake nipple(maroon)

From what I've learned so far searching I believe this is a fuel vent venting it back in the intake. So maybe I could leave the fuel vent by the firewall open and plug the intake nipple, I've heard of this being done on these forums with no consequences, but I'm not 100% on whether my lines are what they were referring to.

If you have the piece that broke off, try and JB weld it back on. If not, get a metal brake line that fits the hole and JB it in place, otherwise, replace the manifold.

That is part of your emissions and will set a CEL and will not allow the fuel tank to vent properly, it could cause another problem.

And slide the clamp down on the hose on the vent tube leading to the radiator.
