Default Traction Control

I've owned my 07 M6 for about 8 months now and I'm getting used to power and handling a little more. However, I slipped up this weekend and did not put the car in Competitive Driving Mode before I got on it. What kind of damage could be done by getting on it with the TC/AH on? I think I also experienced the clutch sticking to the floor. It drives fine now but I'm wondering if I could damage something. I read on the Forum about some clutch sticking problems but not sure if it's the same thing that happened to me.

You didn't hurt anything. You don't "have" to put the car in Comp mode to get on it. Get on the car anytime you want. Comp mode just reduces the electronic interference with your control of the vehicle.

The clutch sticking to the floor is pretty obvious, if it happened you wouldn't just "think" it had happened. Did you have to reach down and pry the pedal from the floor? When's the last time you checked/changed your clutch hydraulic fluid?

The clutch didn't stick completely to the floor. It seemed to return with a delay. Like it was part of the traction control. My left foot pulled up faster then the pedal. The car moved forward quickly just didn't break traction. I changed the fluid last month with the method of sucking out the reservoir, filling it up and pumping the pedal. I just don't want to burn anything up.

The slave cylinder is probably on is way out. Typical probably with these trans. It happened to my gto. It's from dirty fluid. The method you did helps but doesn't get all the old fluid out. A full bleed with get it all out, but is a pain in the butt.

Getting after it with all the safety features on won't hurt anything. It will save you.

Both TC and AH use the brakes to help keep you out of the weeds, so driving aggressively with them engaged can result in greater brake wear. But that beats a trip to the body shop or the hospital.
