Still haven't heard back, I may just take some advice from c5kid and just fix it myself. Just make sure if any of you decide to buy a fast 102 open it up and inspect it before installing it.
hmmm..that's no good. looks like once it's purchased you on your own whether it's a good one or defective one.
I always had the idea that the FAST 102 intake was aluminum. Guess I was wrong. $800+ for plastic junk, I don't think so. In the reject area of the Oshawa truck plant, they always had a rack or two of intakes to replace ones that cracked while stuff was being added to the engine during production. Be awfully careful with the factory stuff and don't over torque anything. It's easily broken. I think the factory Corvette intakes too had gaps letting air escape or be sucked in. Not good either way.
Well the "engineers" still haven't finished reviewing the pictures lol but they did send a rerun label and told me they would swap it out when it arrives. Lets hope they stand by their word and give me a replacement that isn't damaged. I'll keep you guys posted on how this goes
Well they got it today. Just got off the phone with the guy thats been "helping" me.
He asked if I put the silicon on it, which it came that way. Then told me it may have been a return from another customer...
Then told me it was in spec and those splits were fine. I then said it may create bad turbulence or it may be good he doesn't know.
After informing him my friend who is a dealer of his has one in stock with 0 defects, he informed me he can make sure that he could get me one with 0 defects but it may take him two days...
Moral of the story, fast customer service sucks and you should definitely check your intakes before installing them.
