Default What to do next power wise??????

Just recently installed AR headers 1 7/8, and vararam intake. Dynoed at 388hp/385tq

Now is the big question where do i go from here. Looking to be over 500hp all motor and do around a 100shot of nitrous on top of that. What are yalls suggestions. Help me beat my friends 427 camaro

Have a 2005 M6 ls2

Go straight for a power adder (supercharger or turbos). By the time you are done adding bolt-on mods, you will be in the price range of a power adder with a lot more power to run with a 427.

How much you looking to spend? I agree with debo. If you have the $$, get a supercharger. Also remember that the 05 has a weak differential. You start putting too much power to the rear, you will crack the diffy.

I think "all motor" means N/A, so no blower. Id say next is Fast 102 intake (great power adder for LS2) cam and heads. I'm running 1 7/8 long tubes and a fairly aggressive cam and it put down 428rwhp, '06 M6. Fast 102 and heads, will it get me to 500hp? It will get me close.

mods :

*trick flow CNC heads 225cc / 61cc from vengeance racing
*vengeance racing VRX5 camshaft
*HARRIS speedworks 92mm EFI wet nitrous plate system (125hp shot)
*veraram cold intake
*ASP 25% crank pulley
*F.A.S.T intake manifold 92mm ported by veangence racing
*ls2 throtle body ported by vengeance racing
*milling oil pump
*SLP double roller timing set
*KOOKS L/T headers 1 3/4 & 3" KOOKS X-pipe
*CORSA catback sport 3.5 serious
*dewitts radiator
*SPEC clutch kit stage 3+
*SPEC aluminum flywheel

N/A
490 RWHP
443 torqe

on bottle
625 RWHP
603 torqe

If you want to stay n/a my recipes is as followed done at the same time.
Me personally i would not do the nitrous not worth losing your motor, either go n/a or supercharged. N/a you can get 500rwhp with similar mods as below but it will require a cam and heads some have done it with out heads but i dont no how reliable or street friendly it will be or just bolt on a supercharger and be around 550+ . I like the lope of the cam. For the money i have into the car i could of done a supercharge for less but my preference is n/a


texas speed as cast 225 heads
custom ground cam
obx 1 3/4 long tube headers
spl loudmouth ii axle back
spl 10% ud pulley
peakspeed ported intake
peakspeed ported throttle body
vararam cai intake
new cam chain and arp hardware heads
dyno tuned

Great suggestions guys

I want a supercharger/procharger kit but its hard to drop a big chunk of cash like that especially when im trying to save for a house, think im going to end up putting in pieces at a time. I know for sure i want a cam, i cant live without that idle. Dunno about a FAST yet because what if i do end up coming across a SG kit.........uggghhhhh

Very true.......would take alot of patience for me to save for the kit and not spend the $$$ though

and there's the rub. good thing is that you can get some great parts at a low cost in the parts section. some items I wouldn't buy used though. If you are in anyway mechanical, you can do most, if not all of the work yourself. However, be sure you do some reading on this site to learn what others have done. And also read about the differential issues on the 05.

If you love to have the SC kit then save the money for a later project if you're as me then don't save the cash at all I love seeing my self broke and the car running well xD

You need a $10K budget to get the power you want and since you have a 2005, you will need a diff to use 500RWHP.

any power level can destroy the rear end if you beat on it. You can get a differential brace for assurance for less then 400.

generally they break due to wheel hop....but coilovers will limit that greatly

I had bought an anti wheel hop kit (bigger axles) for my GTO and they worked awesome especially at the track.......is there anything like that for the vette??

I agree with all of the above. If you need assurance as I did. I had a C5 Z06 diff with a special diff mount to adapt to the C6 installed. Otherwise you are buying bell housings and more expensive diffs.

Contact Norm (Stanger383 as he is known on the forum). He is the LS2 Internal mod 1/4 mile record holder. He will help you out.

I am very happy I went this route. Wheel hop is the killer and a brace may help but usually not from what I have read.

I have never experienced wheel hop since the coilovers went on.....and it tends to break loose alot....lol
