Broke a Piston
I do have a KB BAP and 60# injectors. I did use the Racetronix harness for the BAP, and oddly enough, I check the inline fuse under the hood before every trip to the drag strip. I know that if the BAP stops, I'm lean, and bye-bye pistons. I checked it again after I found the broken piston, and it was still good.
Are you suggesting I eliminate the BAP and go with the ZO6 fuel pump?
I certainly am. Might want to go stronger than the Z06 pump if you plan to keep the blower on....I'd suggest you look in the forced induction section for recommendations/advice on tried and true fueling upgrades.
It's not odd that you check...but it might have failed you causing this problem. Do you log your car on each run with HP Tuners? I strongly advise doing that, you'll see things heading the wrong way before they fail very often. If you'd been logging fuel pressure you might have seen it fall off even if the fuse isn't blown. But at 155k miles, frankly, your #7 ring land was on borrowed time in a blown application no matter how much logging you did.
I've read much discussion on the #7 ring land, but mine broke #3. I haven't even pulled the passenger side head yet. After I saw #3 broken, I just needed to walk away for a few days and simma down!
