Default Button to start corvette

I have a 2005 corvette and got in it the other day and pushed the button to start it and the whole button pushed inside the dash. How do I get the button back out and back into place.....????

Here's an old DIY on removing the instrument cluster but the beginning shows how to get at the ignition switch:

When I changed mine I just took the panel below the switch off and reached right up behind it to pull it out and put it back.

Quick work reinstalling it using the snap out method in the below video (bezel is far enough at the 30 second mark in the video to reinstall the starter button). Note, make sure to put a towel on top of the steering column cover so you don't scratch it with the bezel when you pull it.

Also, if the car is a Manual trans 05, if it does not have the steering column lock eliminator now, then get it and install it when you reinstall the starter button. The 05 steering column lock is bad design, and just a problem waiting to happen.

When you snap the starter button back in to the bezel, make sure that both sides snap back in, and if they don't, then snap one side in first, then the other side (may have to do it twice if you snap the wrong side in first and the other side will not snap in secondly).

When you put the bezel back in to the dash, make sure that the temp sensor fan does not pop out of the bezel. To see if it popped out, just shine a light through the dash slots for it after you snap the bezel back in.
