I am curious if you had a completely dead car? No interior lights? No dash light etc? Because mine is completely dead. I actually did try jumping it with my truck but same issue.
I had accessory lights but when i hit the button, it would just click. The car was getting power, just not enough juice to turn it over.
If you have no lights of any kind and its dead, it has to be a battery / cable related issue. you can take the battery to advanced auto parts and they can test it for you. If the battery checks out, I would say its a cable related issue. Have you touched or modified anything lately?
I would again check the connections. Your new battery started your truck and the truck battery did not start the Vette. That tells me the battery is OK. A bad ground could give the symptoms you have. Although you only have 15K miles, you have seven years on the car which could cause corrosion on the connections. Did you clean the battery cable connectors? Good luck.
Open the underhood fuse box and examine the positive connection there and measure the voltage between that post connection and a ground on the engine block. You should have full battery voltage readout.
Totally dead car must be cable/connections/ bottom of underhood fuse box etc. or bad ground connection.
I am finding that If I wait in the car after trying to hit start (maybe 30 seconds) , it goes into an accessory mode without me touching anything and the radio and dash lights come on. I cant however get the interior lights or exterior lights to work. I also get all kinds of random error messages on the dash. Then when I try to push start again everything shuts down and faint clicking. Just for the hell of it I put my new battery on the charger and fully charged it. When I connected the terminals I noticed my driver side front blinker was pulsating along with my driver side rear lights. I noticed this same thing when trying to jump the car last week. Does any of this mean anything?
I have an 07 C6 with automatic and 15k miles. I have an issue with none of the doors or rear hatch opening. The windows would go down slightly but the doors wont open. I replaced the battery in my fob but it made no difference. I just replaced the battery today with a red top Optima and I still can't open the doors or start the car. I just get a clicking noise when pushing start button. I put a volt meter on the battery and I read 12.5 volts. Anyone have an idea what is going on?
did you put into ignition mode without starting to see what voltage shows up on the dash?
Can you explain this procedure? I'm not sure what ignition mode is and where would I check voltage on the dash?
press the bottom of the start button for about 10 seconds and it will light up the dash gauges etc. and show the voltage across the battery - if it is above 11.8v the battery is okay

Nothing happens when I push the bottom of start button and hold....completely dead. When I push and hold the top of start button it goes into accessory mode but no voltage shows. Very strange.....I see the alarm symbol is lighted on dash also. Not sure if that means anything.

if you hold it for about ten seconds it should have gone into that mode, I suspect you have some kind of short given the fact that you had put a new battery in the car
Keep holding the bottom of the button...try 30 seconds. It will do the same thing as pushing the top without the clutch in or the brake depressed...ignition on.

Ok so if I depress the top of the button without brake the dash lights came on and the voltage gauge reads 13 volts.
I told you that I had the same issue, I connect two cars to recharge my Z with two different cables and it won't start when I picked it to my garage the guy told me that it's the starter just replace it and you'll find everything is fine.
I presume you meant the bottom of the button...if so, then it is not a battery issue and it is probably your starter.
Jack it up and check the security of the nuts holding rhe battery cable to the solenoid and the solenoid into the starter. You will need a 13mm socket and ratchet, A 1/4" drive works best. Its hard to believe, but this seems to be a very common problem and will cost you zero to check. Mine set in the driveway for two weeks giving me nothing but clicks. Finally yesterday I got the guts to jack her up and take a look. Both nuts were finger tight. I tightened them and now all is well. The dealer might soak you a gazillion dollars for a starter you don't need. Just check it out, Won't cost you more than 15 or 20 minutes of your time.

Believe it or not...nothing ever happened when I pushed the bottom. I put foot on brake and pushed on top button and the dash lights came on and the voltage read 13 volts. Scratching my head. I am now going to jack that car higher tomorrow and check the starter again. I only have front jacked now and need to get under the car better.

I'm going to try that tomorrow. I already checked it but only had the front raised and I reached up and felt around. I will take your advice after jacking car up higher tomorrow.
Don't go crazy tightening nuts on starter and solenoid...plastic insulators are easily cracked. Just make sure they are tight. When they are not, many have found them "finger loose".

Next time I'll use a1/4" drive, I did break a piece of that insulator, so I'm sure there'll be a next time. Good luck with yours and let us know what finally fixes it.
