Nope. The brace/bump that runs right behind the seats is in the way. You have to drop the tank.
I just did a pump swap this past weekend. From all the info and threads on here, changing the fuel pump is the worst thing you could possibly do on a vette. I didn't think it was that bad.
A search will find the thread with instructions. I used the instructions for the most part, but made a tool to help with the clip.
It only took about an hour to get the tank out, and about 30-40 mins to put it back in.
