Clutch scratching/grinding noise
Okay so I have an 05 C6 Z51 manual transmission 3LT I believe? Anyway I'm a having some issues, well not really....drivabililty is great, clutch feels really good too. Doesn't stick, or fall flat on its face....However if I don't shift the car perfectly it makes like a scratching metal noise. I really have no clue what it is. I don't know if it has an upgraded clutch/flywheel or anything like that because I am not the first owner. I've read around on the forums using the search button...but no one seemed to know what the problem is...what causes it, and or how to prevent it? Am I gonna need a new clutch, or Transmission? It does this noise whenever I'm just dd'ing but when quickly shifting gears or in a higher gear I don't hear it. The car seems to do it most when in 1st to 2nd gear. Or when I shift without using the gas pedal (slowly easing off the clutch without gas) I don't hear it at all anymore. It seems to be a common problem I'm guessing. Could anyone help me out, or tell me what I should be looking for please. I'm new to the corvette world and the forum so any help or information would be greatly appreciated....
My car grinds/howls when trying to move from 1st gear upon cold start up, which I have no idea on so just waiting for something to give you the ghost some time, lol.
But yours sounds like a different issue, which could be simple as clutch fluid.
