Default Swap Differential, Local Style!

Had a free week, no babysitting my grandson and my wife was away! So, using my home made stands, I did these:

So far, after > 150 miles with 6 days of patient heat cycling - well, I like it!! Anticipating great thrills to come!!!!

Last but not least, fellow CF Corvette enthusiast, ***Timed38*** drop shipped Redline gear lube - FREE - to get me started! Heart warming Mahalo Tim, for your donation!! Right on!

Are you sure those stands are beefy enough???

(They look like they could easily hold a couple of full cement mixers)

Impressive diy project in the home garage.

Lets us know once the gears are broken in your thoughts of the 4:10's, pros and cons of course.

Not really, many have done it. CF member Subfloor has great on line instructions. I have PM'ed him for clarity and without fail, he always comes up with supports!

You already know Dave, unless a person doesn't like to shift. What is there not to like for the torque to be enjoy down low - anytime you want it, right?

And, I will try my best to refrain my urges and properly heat cycle the gear set for as long as you have! Even shifting at 2K not to exceed 2.5K at these break ins, I am assured the thrill is yet to come.

Thanks for all your PMs Dave!

Well, after 513.3 patient miles, total 19 heat cycling with 27 miles each.

Drained differential and glad I made my magnet drain plug:

As found:

After slurry removal:

Now I can go out and give it a little more, then drain again, at 1000 miles.

---

If interested on drain plug construction. PM - I will share with those I like to share.
