Hi. I have a 2011 C6 coupe (base) It has 19000 miles I am thinking about changing F.&R pads and Rotors. I have replaced brakes on other cars and trucks. I was wondering if changing the brakes are about the same? Is there any thing special or different that I should know before I start the job?
Thanks for any advise. Johnny
No bleeding needed for pad and rotor change. Make sure to grease the caliper pins and be sure the grease covers on the pins are on secure. If one of those pins gets frozen in the bracket its trouble.

They are just better versions of the disc brakes on a family sedan. Measure the thickness of the rotors and compare to the minimum thickness number cast into the disc...no need to replace if they are thick enough. The rear discs include the parking brake (drum) so if they don't need replacing, you save some work.
Thanks for all the help. I live in a small town and no dealership close. I bought the C6 used and the dealer where it was sold new is about 40 miles away and knows nothing about working on a Vet.
I do love the car and love driving it. It spends most of the time in the garage it is not a daily driver.
Again thanks for all the help. Johnny
The only real problem you might encounter is the caliper bridge bolts when changing the rotors. 2 per wheel. These bolts are installed with loktite and torqued to 125 ft lbs from the factory. They are sometimes a bugger to get loose. You will need a 1/2" breaker bar and a 2-3 foot piece of pipe for a leverage extender. You are going to have to lean on them hard, but they will come loose.
