I just installed a SLP shift skip, I followed the instructions etc, etc.
Is the 1/4 light supposed go completely away? It keeps showing...did I miss something? Is it faulty?
The car's computers determine if the tranny needs to be told to do the skip shift action. If it does, a signal is sent to the tranny while the computer also turns on the dash indicator. The eliminator simply handles things at the transmission end of this chain of events - it doesn't alter what the computer does.

Just ignore it.

Just out of curiosity, is there a way to get rid of the light?
I backed the car up onto ramps, once you are under you'll see the connector on top of the transmission on the driver side, the only tool needed is probably a flat head screw driver, I added a zip tie to keep the wiring from touching the exhaust.
its a gray clip/plug towards the top of the transmission. NOT the black clip/plug on the bottom. You have reach up a bit to get it. I just installed mine yesterday in about 10 minutes
k I have it on ramps already but 3/4 of the tranny is hidden by a skid plate. is this clip by all the o2 sensor wires?
The trans is not hidden by a skid plate...you're in the wrong area. The O2 sensors are in the front, the trans is in the back. There is a sticker on the trans at the connector that says "skip shift"...this is the connector to find and insert the device.

Yes. If you have access to a tuning package (HP Tuners, for example) you can turn it off. A Tech II unit can do it, too. (as in "a dealer")
I'm just so used to ignoring it any more that sometimes I actually see it out of the corner of my eye and think "what's that?" for a split second. I actually have the software available to me to turn it off and just haven't bothered.

Yes! With a Tech II or a programmer like an HP Programmer you can turn the skip shift off. With this method, it shuts off the light AND the function. No need to fool with the wiring on the transmission.
