If the BCM does not see that the car is in PARK,, it will not properly go into sleep mode.

You need to figure out what is not telling the BCM that the car is in park.

You need to get the service manual if you want to start diagnosing this yourself. I do not have an automatic but I would expect that there is a contact switch near the shifter that closes when the car is put into Park...it may be that the switch is in the trans itself. The manual will tell you where it is and it would be the first thing I would check. Until this is fixed, you need to keep the battery up and not let it be drained or it will be damaged.

I believe that its a function of the selector switch on the transmission. I dont have my ESI installed so, I cant check.

terco,

My sincere apologies to read of your displeasing vehicle concerns. Although you're seeking thoughts and opinions, if you feel an official GM diagnosis is necessary, I'd be happy to communicate your sentiments with the Customer Experience Managers (CEM) at the GM dealer of your choice. Please know that you're welcome to message us privately if you'd like to proceed (with the above), or discuss this situation further.
