Default DIC switches inop

I have a 2006 vert that the switches for the drivers info center are inop at times. A gentle slap of the switch pod & they work ok for a while. I found a GM service bulletin 3537A dated 02-16-2006
that lists this problem. Its for a 2005 but may fix my 2006.I can't find the whole bulletin for the fix. Any one have access to the complete bulletin?

Best guess, loose/bad connection plug on the back of the button assembly.

30 second into this below video will have the dash bezel out so you can pop the connector, give it and button socket pins a quick shot of electrical contact cleaner, and put it back in. Also make make sure that the wire pin sockets on the connector are not loose/have a bad connection there.
Note, if you are in a high humidity area, a little dielectric grease on the connectors copper parts will keep them from corroding again.

Also, put a thin towel on top of the steering column cover so you don't scratch it with the bezel when you pull the bezel out to get to the plug/switches.

It that does not solve the problem, then pull the switch bank off the bezel, pull it apart and give it a clear cleaning/check for cold solder joints that may need to be re-solders instead.

P.S, when you put the bezel back in, make sure not to knock the cabin temp sensor out of the socket for it. The temp sensor snaps into the back of the bezel to to the left of the starter button behind the dash slots, and it really easy to tilt the bezel wrong when snapping it back in, to end up knocking the sensor out with it just laying deep in the dash bowels instead. When this happens, the sensor can not read cabin temp correctly. As for checking it you knocked it out, just shine a light in the dash slots and make sure that you are not seeing daylight behind the slots.

This is the cabin temp sensor.

and if you look close at the slotted section of the bezel, can see the blue part of it just behind the slots (meaning that it still in the receiver socket of the bezel and has not been knocked out).

#PIC3537B: Drivers Information Center Switches Inoperative - keywords DIC IPC - (Aug 1, 2006)
Subject: Drivers Information Center Switches Inoperative

Models: 2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvette

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This PI has been revised to add the 2007 Model Year. Please discard PIC3537A.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
Some customers may state that all the Drivers Information Center (DIC) switches are inoperative.

Recommendation/Instructions:
After performing normal diagnosis and a root cause can not be found, check for a sticking DIC switch or a sticking IPC dimmer switch. All switch inputs can be viewed by using the Tech 2 and viewing inputs under the IPC data list. Listed below are the six switches that can cause this concern and what the normal reading should be with the switches not depressed.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

Electrical contact cleaner does a pretty good job at getting out all the coffee, coke, drool that may be causing the buttons to stick in the first place on a pull down and cleaning, verses dropping money for a new switch bank to solve the problem that way instead.

Ok got it fixed. If this happens to you look closely at the switches as you press them. I could see that my trip button stuck down. I tried some air in a can but ended up using a very small amount of a dry aerosol spray on that switch button& it no longer sticks. I did not need to remove anything.
