Default 2" Headers are Better!?

So I'm in the market for some headers to go on a ~600whp 427 track only engine, and after reading a TON of posts, I had my mind pretty much set on 1 7/8 until I came across this thread...

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ghlight=header

Seems like it is legit, but it is the only one I have ever seen that does NOT show ANY loss of anything anywhere with the 2" headers.

Thoughts?

I guess 2" headers out performing 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 at all RPM ranges is of no interest to anyone? I actually thought it was a pretty big deal.

That chart was a little strange, especially where the TQ and HP curves crossed. Too bad they didn't twist that up higher than 6300.

I believe I read in there there was no change in tune...so does that mean it's optimized for each size headers? Doesn't sound like it.

Just a guess, but I have read many places that ARH sells "tuned" headers...maybe that's why there were no adjustments made.

It is still a shock to me that the 2" system produced more tq/hp everywhere...if this was a legit test (which it seems to be), this definitely goes against popular belief.

We do a lot of unique LS headers, tall deck, stepped, port shape, DR ports.
