Passenger door

I went out to the car earlier today and the door wouldn't open. It kept hitting the fender i couldn't believe it I mean it was pretty hot in Jersey today but I have never heard of the material actually swelling up or something. As soon as the sun went down and it cooled off it opened right up. Cleared perfectly. does this happen to a lot of c6 vettes?
