SLP Powerbond install question
I ordered a SLP Powerbond PBU1117SS for my 05 C6. My question is should it be just a straight remove the OEM balancer and install the Powerbond? I've read something about a keyway on the aftermarket balancer does anybody have any info on this as far as installation is concern? Thanks!

I bought that same part and it is a straight remove and replace however my dealer could not get it on all the way so the belt would line up. They ended up putting the old one back on and said it was ok and it actually is pretty wobble free now. I'm holding on to the Powerbond for when the OEM one does fail (again) and will find a different shop to install it.
The instructions say if you don't use the keyway to fill it in with silicone.

i have an slp on my c5 and a powerbond on my c6 (they are the same unit) but my slp came with a new gm bolt. Besides being a pita to intall they go on perfectly and have never let me down. I even removed and reused the PB unit in my c6 when i cammed it. The crank does not have a keyway, you can PIN THE CRANK if you want but it is not necessary unless adding a supercharger.
