Bottom feeder block off

Has anyone put the bottom feeder block off from a Z06 on a base car?

If so, what was the resulting impact on water temp.

I was visiting a well known Corvette specialist, and he recommended doing it and based on the fact that he is in an extremely warm climate, I thought about giving it a shot.

My car has a procharger intercooler and I thought it would force more air through the IC if I blocked off the bottom like the widebody cars. Coolant temps went up 30°F on the highway. Might not be the same if theres no IC but thats my experience.
