And I thought that the GS models contained this upgrade mentioned.
Again walking out on a limb.

If they are the same I would assume they are supposed to be shared parts.
The shaft pictured from what I can see looks the same as what I removed from my 06. What is supposed to be upgraded on the z06 shafts?

I had seen a few posts in passing in long lost threads that alluded to 09+ diffs having upgraded parts.
But I, along with many others are told that we need to pay and upgrade our diffs to Z06 stuff. Well, I already have it, and proof is in the pics.

It's hard to say, most of the shaft info comes from the C5 world. C5s had one piece short shaft and gear with a hollow section. There isn't much info out there from C6 guys.
I'm hoping to find some concrete info from some of our diff builders.

The gear and short shaft were 2 separate pieces in my diff. This was from a 06 manual base model.

06 to 08 uses the two piece shaft,
It was the 05 that has the weaker one piece shaft instead (shown on top).

Clutches from an 06 automatic differential and the clutches that came out of my 09 differential.
My 09 diff had carbon clutches already.

Yes it's normal. All the 09+ cars we've done that I have in recent memory all had the upgraded parts from the factory and carbon clutches.
