Manual to auto?
So I want to do more drag racing with my car and want to look in to converting it to an auto.
2008 C6
Vortech v3
Cam
Headers
Methanol
Z06 exhaust
688 rwhp
If the car was stock I would just sell and buy an auto but as you can see it has alot of work done to it.
The car is in Atlanta GA so I would be looking for a shop to do this down there.
If the cost is crazy then I will reconsider. If I find some used parts what do you think I can do this for?

I know there is another member on this board who recently started he was swapping out his auto for a manual. maybe you could do a search (auto to manual) and pm him and possibly swap some parts.
good luck.

It won't be cheap, I can tell you that much. You're looking at a new torque tube, driveshaft, flex plate, converter, and transmission in addition to some miscellaneous parts to make it all mate up. It's typically at least about ten grand if you're doing a 4L65. 4L80 is a lot more expensive.

Like steck said, at least $10k in parts, add labor and it is an easy $15k job. Probably better taking your mods off and getting an auto car. Everything but the cam can easily be removed and replaced in a weekend.

The problem is a 6L80 car still isn't going to be worth swapping the crap into. Even starting with a 6L80, it's still not cheap to go to a 4L65.

So in retrospect, sell the vette buy a mustang
Just put a circle D stall in my mustang Saturday. What a difference. Best mod I've ever done to any car. It just goes. Big stalls rock.

I wish I had the funds to ship parts because I would love to trade everything needed for an auto for everything needed for a manual

Strip the car, return it to stock. Keep the bolt-ons. Sell it. Buy an auto and reinstall. you'll be thousands (maybe tens of thousands) ahead.
