Ok guys, I've had my 05 z51 6sp car for awhile now and I'm looking at doing H/C/I with a 150-200 shot in the future. Don't have the funds for spendy TFS heads or etc but I'd like to make as close to 500whp na as possible. looking at maybe ls3 heads. My questions are, is the cnc head worth it over stock? what cam would be best with ls3 heads and a fast intake? what numbers have you made with a similar set up?

Car is daily driven and at the moment all stock except an u/d pulley and a vararam. the car recently dyno'd 371whp/360wtq.

Pretty new to the ls world so feel free to correct me or point me in a better direction.

Thanks in advance!

A good cam and ls3 heads will get you there. Talk to a good cam guy about your goals, there are a few that frequent this site.

I believe when you go with the LS3 heads you also need an LS3 intake manifold? I also remember reading something about being able to trade your LS2 heads towards LS3 heads somewhere...

OP,

You can still get a FAST LS3 style intake instead of the FAST LS1/LS2 intake...

As for Camshaft if its Manual 6spd..

233/248 .619"/.595" 113+5 Cam for LS3 Heads and FAST 102..

Otherwise send in your 243's to get CNC'd

Go with a 235/242 .621"/.592" 111+3

PM me for some more details if youd like
