Default CTEK 3300 questions

HEY fellas-I am back for some more free advice if you would. I will be hooking up the 3300 soon and have never used one before. I have a couple questions to those of you who have a CTEK. First,I would prefer to use the plug in connectors not the alligator clips. If I put the eyelet connector ends on and for whatever reason the battery becomes disconnected and I hook it back up does anything need to be reset such as the window indexing or anything else? Or is everything ok? I am going to try to put the eyelet ends on without disconnecting the battery but if it happens does it cause any issues? Second what is the hookup procedure you guys use? Do you connect the CTEK first then plug it in to the outlet and then turn it on? What button or setting do you use?If you can stop laughing at my ignorance long enough to answer that would be great. As always thx to all for the help. Don

All you have to do is re-index the windows if batt. gets disconnected.

For the ctek 3300, first, plug into wall, then plug into socket, then turn on. you'll have one orange/yellow light. press large round button twice. that will then show two icons lit yellow: car and batt. one will turn to green while the other stays yellow when batt is fully charged.

every time you disconnect ctek, or cut power from wall, it goes back to stand by. stand by means you have to hit the round button twice to get it back to batt. and car. we had one person on here a year or more ago who thought that plugging into socket, and plugging into wall meant the ctek was charging. it was not. it was in permanent standby mode.

AO-thx man. Is the re-indexing something I can do or do I need to take it in? Appreciate your help; Orange rules all!

AO- also meant to ask even when charging is complete its ok to leave everything hooked up as is with charger on correct?Answer seems obvious but I thought I better ask.Kind of defeats the purpose if you have to connect and disconnect all the time. Thanks again Spock.

Very easy to re-index windows: put window down, pull up, hold up button about 3 seconds, done. Do same for passenger window.

As to leaving Ctek on, absolutely OK when batt. is fully charged and you see a green light on top of an amber light.

I've never used a battery tender before but I had an extra $60 burning a hole in my wallet so I ordered that same one from Amazon a couple days ago. I ordered the cig lighter adapter along with it. Seems like the easiest way to do it.

I bought another nut for each battery post. Used a washer between connector and existing nut. Never disconnected the battery.

Either way, no big deal...

I guess there are different models for the ctek 3300 as I only had to set mine to "car mode" once. now all I do is plug the two connectors whenever I park. I have the round eyelets under the battery posts and the other end exiting the front grill that I tuck away after charging. the ctek is always plugged in to the wall socket so when I park I connect the ctek to the plug in the grill.

Yes, there are different models of the same designation. However, what I was saying was that if you turn off the electricity to the Ctek and then reconnect everything upon return (and turn on the electricity to it again), then you have to reset it. When I remove mine to go driving, the first thing I do is cut off the electricity to the Ctek from the wall (via a surge protector which I turn off), pull the Ctek plug out of the lighter socket and move the entire unit to a stand in the garage. That's why mine has to be reset each time I put it back in the car. It sounds complicated but really, it's not at all.
