Trying to change out a leaky axle seal on my cars C6Z with DSS monster axles. Everything is apart now but for the life of me I can't separate the DSS axle from the rears stub axle. Tried a pry back ext but it won't budge.
I could always undo the allen head bolts holding that flange on and use a puller to get the flange off but I'm really tryng to avoid that.

yes there is a tool for that it is a slide hammer and a big fork that slips (with difficulty) behind the inner joint. I got the setup on ebay
OTC tools
I changed my left rear axle 2 days ago without much difficulty. I watched a u tube video on how to change a rear wheel bearing to get a idea of how to do it. I just put the axle nut flush with the end of the shaft and whacked it with a hammer a few times to remove it from the bearing. After you get it out of the bearing just pull a few times to free it from the rear end.
