One of my big pet peeves is making changes to a car without adhering to OEM standards, ie, adding ballast resistors to exterior LED lighting. I absolutely hate those cable splicers that merely cut and violate the insulation to make the connection only to have moisture corrode the wire at some later date and time. I would rather take the time to make up a weatherproof interconnect harness to preserve the integrity of the connections. Your tip looks like a good source for a lot of hard to find electrical components with which to do so.
