Yah...kind of figured that... I usually have issues with the tensioners. Do you usually put the belt over that first to the inside then over the pulleys? Or the outside and wrestle with the wrench?

I have a Katech adjuster, so I just loosen the bolt.

Just route your belt over all pulleys and with the tensioner in all the way - make your last move. Slide the belt over the non groove w/p pulley and release the tensioner.

Thanks red... will try that one...over the WP last...never thought of that one..

It would have been nice if they designed the tensioner where you could pin it in the release position..

I just replaced mine. I've found that leaving the alternator pulley for last is the easiest. Get everything routed, except the alternator, get a wrench on the tensioner bolt, release tension with one hand, reach over with the other and ease the belt into the alternator pulley. That way the wrench on the tensioner isn't in the way when you're getting the belt onto the tensioner pulley.

I also went with an AC Delco OEM replacement, as it was the exact same length as the original. Some of the aftermarket belts are a little different sized

Use a deep socket and ratchet on the tensioner pulley bolt and there is plenty of room for the belt to just sit on the socket until you are ready to slide it on the pulley.

Deed is done, both belts in about a half an hour. My long arms helped a lot!!
I compared the Gatorback belts I got with the originals and they were the same length, fit perfect..

Thanks all...now time to do the rear brakes.
