I have been reading some threads regarding issues with a (service charging system) code and certain spark plugs. I have been running ngk tr6ix iridium Plugs(?) for awhile with a mail order tune from ecs. I have been getting that code at idle since tuned.....i heard that theres a service bulletin regarding that code and high performance spark plugs. Is it more likely the tune or plugs? Would it hurt to swap out to tr6 plugs?

The tune shouldn't cause it. Just swap plugs to the OEM AC Delco Iridium's You wont see and performance decrease. It will most likely solve your issue.

The only plug I've ever heard causing this problem are NGK. plug core material seems to interfere with alternator operation

Put stock plugs in as the NGK TR6 plugs are crap - I actually once got engine knock with them, at idle!
I have ran NGK tr55 tr6 copper core plugs for 10 years in my C6 LS2 with no problems, I use them as a cheap plug and change before every trip to the track

just looked and my plugs are tR55ix. only get charging system warning at idle.

yep its been known to happen on the iridium plugs, I was told don't use them that they are brittle and the tip can break and do a lot of damage, also I find a better et at the track with fresh plugs and the copper is so much cheaper and easily gaped to my specification.

can I just swap to the copper tr55's/tr6's and not effect anything tune wise...ie burn cooler or hotter?

yep dont need to change a thing take a qtip and coat inside of wire boot with dielectric cream and you even change them enough you dont need no anti size for the treads
