Alright fellow gear heads and wrench turners, I need some help ASAP please.
I am replacing my belts (82,000 miles, 05 C6 Z51, manual). I have gotten both the serpentine belt off and the A/C compressor belt off easy enough. But now I cant get the damned A/C compressor belt back on. Its really tight work space and GM decided it would be a good idea to put some hard coolant lines (either oil or tranny cooler) directly in front of the tensioner pulley bolt for the A/C compressor. Are there any tricks to being able to get the tensioner loose enough to get the new belt over the pulley? I'm out of ideas a running out of patience. Thanks in advance. Also if there are any tricks to the serpentine belt, please feel free to share because that's next.

The A/C belt is not that bad. Just be patient and work the tensioner.
As far as the main drive belt - everyone has their method. I put the belt over all drives and leave the water pump for last. I just slide it over the pulley. Of course - you must work the tensioner while this is done. Works for me.
Thanks! I finally got the a/c compressor belt. That thing took a lot of patience, prayer, and swearing but I finally got it. NEVER doing that again. The serpentine itself was very easy to do, kind of surprising considering how awful the a/c belt was. Problem solved though.

On my 06 mn6 the AC belt was not the stock part# listed in the book at the parts store{gates belt} I had to get 1-inch longer

I just did both of mine, finally got the ac belt on, started the engine and the ac belt came off, I didn't have it all the way on the compressor on the top and as you know it's very hard to see. Well the second time was a charm, not any easier but at least it didn't come off. My car is a 05, Z51, 6 speed, the same as yours. I did unbolt the two hard lines as well as the cooler which gave me some additional room to work but even then it was tight.
