Default 2005 Corvette Ventilation Problem ?

Anyone had a Problem on their C6 with the ventilation Only coming out on top (defrost) setting, even though the control button and indicator shows it directed to the middle level vents or the floor mode ? I can not get any air, A/C or Heat or Vent to come out except on top , defrost ? Why ? Is there a reset or need to depower the car from the battery or at last resort take it to a dealer ???

Don't want to alarm you but it's probably one or more defective mode door(s)/acutator(s). They direct air around to the different vents when you change settings. It's a common problem as the cars get older. IF, and at this point it is a BIG IF, that is the problem, the cost to replace one, and there are 4 in there, is about $1500 at a dealer because they have to take the whole dash out. SO, if you determine that is the problem, we suggest you replace all 4 while in there. It's only a couple hundred more but you won't be looking at another big payout when the next one goes next year.

You can try a reset by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or so but that is unlikely to fix it. Some have had success doing it. Otherwise probably need a dealer to diagnose it properly.

I just Changed the Air Intake from the Factory to a AIRAID Cold Air Intake before this happened. Would this change cause this Ventilation Direction Problem ? Is the air direction system controled by Vacuum or is it electrically controled ? Someone told me changing the vacuum from the factory to Airaid could change the vacuum system to cause the directions Not to work right ??? Haven't called the Chevy garage yet to ask the service tech about this ????
