Default Exhaust Question
I currently have the GCA Exhaust (Borla Touring) on my base C6. I would like a louder more aggresive sound, but not going the headers route. And saving as much money as possible. Any thoughts? Is it possible to just change out the mufflers? TIA

what do headers have to do with sound? you have cast iron shorty headers on it now.. did you use the "search button"? this has been disscused about mmm.... 14 million times

I know headers are installed mostly for hp/tq increase, but they also change the sound a lot!

Yes. I installed Magnaflow mufflers. Off the shelf mufflers. About $60 each.

Any touring muffler will be a little quieter. Corsa makes a touring, sport, and extreme, extreme being the loudest. What sounds best is all subjective, but most people go with the Corsa Sport.

You must be having a bad day. If you don't like his question, don't click, better yet don't answer At this point in the C6 gen all there is, is repeat questions. Get over it.

OP, you want sound buy the SLP Loudmouth Exhaust. It's cheap too!

You want aggressive? How about electric cutouts with dumps right after the cats since you don't want headers? Loud when you want it, mild when you don't( like long freeway drive where drone will make you want to wear ear plugs).

Great exhaust choice. No drone and mellow when you are just cruising. At higher rpm and wide open throttle it is LOUD

Long tube headers are much more effective at scavenging exhaust gases. So now you have more exhaust gases flowing through the muffler.


I have videos of it stock with Borla ATAK's and another with the ATAK's and headers. The post header is much louder.
