Reason: Possible wrong section
Turned key 5 times and dic is looking for fob but will not recognize the one I have
So if it doesn't recognize it you need to go ahead and program it. Just follow the steps in that link I posted. You can do the short version, steps 1-10, to add that FOB as whatever number is next and get the car drivable then after getting a 2nd FOB you can go back and do the long procedure to reprogram both FOB's as #1 and #2 to give you access to the memory functions.
Did you put the fob in the slot in the glove box? That will get your car running... Or should. Good ideas above, and have you had any lights on your dash? A LOT of issues when the battery starts to die...

Exactly. Dead battery or not.. put the fob in the slot on the left hand side of the glove box and the car should start. This precisely why it's there.
Yes. Everything was perfect until battery died. Then I realized I couldn't get into car because I lost trunk key.
Dealer cut new key based on vin. Got into car. Replaced battery. no luck
Sounds like you've done everything I can think of, all I got left is the battery in the fob upside down or the fob in the slot with buttons facing passengers side... I'm sure you've checked those though
OK, came up with one more idea, buy yourself a new fob, CULTRAG or there are a couple in the for sale section, when you get it, try to program it, it will be #3 so it won't do your seat settings etc. (You can do the long version later) and see if it works. If it does, great, if not, off to dealer and you would have two fobs like you should anyway... Now I'm out of ideas lol. Good luck
Ok. So drivers window doesn't go down because fob not recognized
I start the reprogramming process. It flickers "wait 10 minutes" then returns to fob not detected
These cars are brutal. Whatever happened to a simple key
It's got to be the car battery... Do you have it on a tender? Try the fob in the slot and jump the car. I've seen new battery on threads many times and it was a dead cell or car sat for a couple days with no tender on it and battery drained. Please figure it out, driving ME nutz and not even my car lol
Ok. Ready to puke now
Ordered new fob. Installed new fob battery with voltage at 3.2 vdc
Started procedure. 5 turns of key. Looking to begin programming
When I press lower half of ignition button, it tries to begin 10 minute programming sequence but quickly reverts back to "no fob detected"
New fob. New battery. Charged car battery
At wits end.
