Default C6 Windshield Cowl differences

I have a 2006 Corvette and wish to renew the windshield cowl pieces. However looking at various GM part sites it seems that the newer model ie a 2012 model windshield cowl is 40% price of a 2006 version.

Anyone able to please inform me of compatibility or the design changes of this piece?

Can GM# 25778761 be substituted for GM #15822873
and if so which is better?

well, you stumped me on that one. i can usually find the difference but in your case, you might have to make some call(s) to suppliers to see what is different.
something happened after 01/19/2007 for change(s) to them. so, sorry i am not really all that helpful, here is what i found....

part number 15822873 is also same as part number 15242376, both are valid prior to 01/19/2007.
part number 25778761 is valid on or after 01/19/2007.
