Default Quick Shock Replacement Question

I am going to be doing shocks on my Z06, is it easier to do on the ground or on a lift? I've seen posts about it being done both ways. I can get the car all the way off the ground and do whatever, just worried about the spring tension...

What do you think?

Spring tension really isn't an issue. Either way works. I found the front to be easier by removing the two bolts that hold the upper control arm on that to try and compress the shock.

What Tim says...

When you remove the UCA to replace the shock, you'll need to re-align the front end.

Upper control arms have no adjustability for the front end alignment, so I'm not sure I agree it's absolutely 100% necessary. I would bet the flex in the suspension bushings is greater than any changes you'll get from removing/re-installing the UCA's

Good idea to have it checked anyways? Probably.

Checked and brought back into alignment. IMHO, anytime you change of move suspension components outside of sway bars, the alignment also needs to be checked.
