Default Automatic Shifting problem

So my 2008 automatic is sitting in a parking lot at the moment. I pulled in and turned car off. When I came back out the car cranked right up but will not go into gear. I can move it between PRNDS and it will freely move between N and D without pressing on break. Anyone can help me out?

the shifter cable has come undone either at the shifter or the tranny. you can put it in gear by moving the lever on the tranny. more than likely the cable bushing at the shifter lever is broken. its and easy fix...do a search as it has been covered numerous times.
