Default c6z06 diff sound

To make a long story short i did buy a c6z06 diff to my 2005 c6 from a friend.

tha c6z06 diff was dissambled when i brougt it but it was the gear box that was the problem so nothing wrong with the diff.

there was no problem with the assamble of the diff. and i filled it with mobil 1 fluid.

but when im in gear and turning left in low speed it sounds like the wheels are toutching the fenders. if i dont have any gear in but in same speed there is no sound...

do i need to add someting to the oil?

If you used Mobil One you should use the synthetic gear lubricant LS-75W90. The LS stands for limited slip and has an additive in it. You should then find a large parking lot and do some tight figure eights as this will lubricate the clutches. Try that.

Drain both the trans, and the differential fluids

Now on the trans, use p/n GM 88861800 fluid

On the diff, you p/n GM 88862624 fluid
Note, GM had a revision to his fluid in the diffs, since it keeps the diff clutches from making a lot of chatter noise.

Both of these fluids have the correct additives/viscosity needed for each.

On the trans, you have the syncro clutch type pads on each gear, and shifter fork pads that needs the additives to allow them to work correctly and not burn out instead.

On the diff, you have the clutch packs for the locking diff, and if not enough LS additive in the fluid, then the clutch pads will not release correctly. To much LS additives and the clutch packs will not lock correctly and over slip instead.

So the problem you are having right now, is the clutch packs in the diff have chatter from the wrong fluid being used to fill it, and then not locking/unlocking correctly without making a lot of chattering noise.

As for once you get the correct fluids in, to flush the diff locker clutch packs with the correct fluid, as stated, slow figure 8's in a parking lot to allow the clutch packs to open up and flush with the new fluid between the discs/pads.
