Hey all,

Recently noticed a few electrical issues start popping up. Maybe related. Probably not though as they are inconsistent.

Car is 2007 c6z. Sometimes the radio turns off and turns back on by itself at random. When this happens, the music turns off and screen goes black. But I did notice the buttons stay lit. So I don't think the whole thing is losing power. It stays off for about 3-4 seconds before it comes back on. It's factory nav and has a aftermarket iPod connection that comes out of center console (added by previous owner). Even if radio is off and just corvette symbol is showing, it still does it. I didn't find a lot when searching this so I'm not sure if anyone has the same issue.

Second problem I just noticed today... The climate control display randomly switches from Fahrenheit to celcius and stays that way for a minute or two and then changes back. Very strange. I did search and find someone else had same issue, but there was no resolution posted.

Any ideas? I was thinking it was a key fob issue, but it appears to happen with fobs 1 and 2. Not super common issues, so I figure I would throw it out here. Thx in advance!

 

You have a ground issue.

Take it to a reputable Corvette specialty shop for repair. Or look up the ground and make sure they are all good. Chances are one is loose and making intermittent contact.

 

I was hoping that both problems were related and it was something simple like a loose ground.
Does anyone have access to wiring diagrams or ground locations?
Only thing putting me off from these problems sharing a solution, is that they don't happen at the same time. But that doesn't rule out a loose connection I suppose.
