At first I thought it might be the belt but it really doesn't sound like that. Sounds more squeak than a squeal if that makes since. It gets louder the more rpms I turn and then goes away after it gets warm. Is there a pulley or anything that is prone to going out on these cars? Any ideas?
ok i just had this problem happen to my 2005 c6 Z51 YESTERDAY.
picked it up on jacks and noticed my entire ac tensioner was about to fall apart.
Squealed like a pig and everything worked, but the spring was literally crooked and hanging by a moment. You could see the pully misaligned and pulling on my belt and causing it to brush against the side of the dampener.
Went to Advance Auto, bought a Dayco AC TENSIONER (with discount code) for $39.00 (tax included)
Spent about 45 minutes removing the two belts and R&R the ac tensioner and ALL IS WELL!

When that's about to go bad or gone back it'll squeak along with your RPMs.
I suggest check that first. 05-07 were very susceptible to this problem. If not then it could just be the tensioner pulley. The one you "bend" to remove the drive belt.
If not that than check what Ahmer said.
Good luck and let us know!!

I would replace all idlers, tensioner and belts. While the belt is off, spin all accessories by hand and see if any of them feel unusual. Overly to turn, loose bearings, squeaky noises, etc.
To remove the ac belt, you have to jack the car up and use a 15 mm ratchet style socket wrench to swing the idler and reduce tension. Then its 1 12 mm bolt that can be removed with a 1/4" socket wrench. DONE.
R&R and reverse.
First You have to loosen the tension on the main serpentine belt which is by placing a 15 mm socket and swinging towards your water pump. Then remove the belt from the WATER PUMP. Reverse to place back, DO NOT TRY TO FORCE THE BELT ON THE TENSIONER OF THE MAIN BELT. MUCH EASIER TO ALIGN BELT ON TENSIONER FIRST, THEN SWING BELT ONTO WATER PUMP.

BTW THAT MILD CHIRP IS THE pulley on the main belt tensioner. Replace both tensioner and pulley. Can be found on amazon, and shipped PRIME Free
