If the gouges arent getting into the gasket youll probably be Ok
Note to Carrie.....take the tools away from whoever is doing that hackwork and thats what it is wow. (re exh flange areas)Cant let stuff like that go out the door...appearance doesnt make hp but when it isnt cheap should look the part to an extent
Almost wondering if those were done by somene who bought, then returned them??

I also wondered if these weren't sent back and then pushed back out the door. B&B is standing behind their work on those headers, still saying they see nothing wrong with the welding and grinds, but when your picture promoting the headers looks like the picture I'm posting then one would assume they would look like that in person. At least that's how it was with kooks. They showed up exactly the same as the picture to promote the sale.
I know my PFADT headers looked absolutely amazing... I also like the PFADT mid X-pipe with the gradual (Slow) merge. Great quality and amazing welds, Made in the USA...
Arts the blind janitor that they let weld when the pros get too busy!!
Lol! That's a great way to put it! If only B&B felt the same way. Once they get them back maybe they will say the same thing and try to rectify the situation. It's only a matter of time before they see this post.
After buying a cheaper set the first time, i found out why the ARH cost more. I sent these back and paid the extra money.
Look at how the cheap SS cracked when they bent it. You could look down the tubes and see where they did some repair work to other cracks as well.
It's always scary buying off of third parties, not sure if you're getting a knock off.

That picture right there is why I wouldn't want to go cheap on exhaust. Not to say one of the cheaper exhaust won't last the length of time I own the car but why take the risk? It's not worth the risk to me. And that's why I felt as I was buying the headers they were a top quality product with B&B. I still feel someone was having an off day. It happens. But it means I won't be sending my money back to them. The headers were shipped out on the 26th and I should get my refund to put towards better quality here in a little over a week.
Whoever is stating that this level of construction and quality is fine and of cosmetic issue only, I disagree completely. I'm an aerospace engineer and have a lot of experience with tube and manifold fabrication.
This level of construction is atrocious. The flange machining is awful. The fit between the tubes and flange is terrible and will affect the weld durability. It is clear that whoever made these, did not have the proper tooling and jigs to properly machine the parts, fit them together and fixture properly for welding. Not to mention the overall sloppiness of the welding and hand grinding. I would be very surprised if these did not crack and leak in several places.
As for affecting performance, it is impossible to say unless you can see or know the dimensional fit up between header and exhaust port. That said, it is very important (flow wise) to insure that disturbances at entrance areas like this are not present. From the pictures, you have all kinds of bumps and chamfers that are different at every location. Some may be okay, others, probably not great.
I would send them back and get a refund, even if a stocking fee applies. That way, you won't have this eating at you.
The photo I posted is of a set I picked up last year. The are not ARH, BB, Kooks or any of the top brands. It is easy to see why the better brands cost more when you have them in your hands.
I could have sworn the base had 2.5" exhaust, I know that's right. I had a base 08. But I thought I read the grand sport, like mine, Z06 and ZR1 all had 3" exhaust. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Only the ZR-1 and Z06 have 3" exhaust from the factory. If your GS has it, then someone swapped our the original 2.5" system.
