Default Steering Position Sensor

Hi all,

I did cam/lifters swap on my 2010 GS Corvette a while back. When the steering rack was disconnected, I did turn the steering wheel many turns, more than 4. I did not know I'm not supposed to do that.

Now I have the "active handling" and "service traction control" warnings. The car goes into limp mode and I can't disable the traction control. My airbag light is always on and my horn is not working.

I know I broke the clock spring. I ordered a new one and I'm going to replace it as soon as I get it. But what about the steering position sensor? Do I need to replace it? I heard that the steering position sensor can be calibrated or centered with Tech 2. Can anyone confirm?

Yes it can be done with a TechII

U probably broke the sensor. When I took the steering rack out doing my cam. The sensor broke giving me the same issue u had above. Once we replaced the sensor all was fine.

Thanks for the input. How did you know the sensor is broken? Did you try to calibrate the sensor with TechII before replacing it with a new one?
