Hi, my name is Jose and I'm new to this forum. I'm having an issue with my 05 C6 Corvette, it's raining pretty hard here in California and I've notice water leaking from inside of my driver side dash. Anyone has an idea what it might be? I read something that is common to leak and can be fix. Would it damage anything inside the dash board? Thanks guys!
I just seen another post with the same question, it says that the 05 was made with a grommet on the firewall so it causes water leaks. Someone said the put clear silicone to shut it completely.
This sounds like the leak my `08 had. Fixed by dealer under warranty. Reading the repair description, they said something about a grommet and a wire bundle feed thru the firewall was not installed correctly at the factory. Said they removed the cowl to get to it. Also noticed my center console was scratched up like someone was struggling under the dash. I think they just goobered it up with silicone sealer. I believe it was quite an effort to access.

You would have to be driving pretty fast to make it in that time.
If you need help then maybe try posting in the Southern California section, there is always someone on this forum willing to help.
I had a truck with that same problem, turned out the windshield lost it's seal and allowed water to get in during hard rains, when the installer removed the mouldings he showed me that when he applied pressure from the inside at the top left of the driver side windshield it would actually move up and down at about a 1/8 of an inch gap.
I had one in my Toyota pickup, suspecting the windshield I used a hose systematically and strategically placed around the windshield, starting at the bottom and working my way up. I found the leak eventually, I started along the bottom of the windshield, worked my way across, then moved to the sides, then started along the top. There was a section over the passenger side that started leaking, close to the rear view mirror. This was a factory windshield too. When I took it to Autolite for replacement, they pulled the windshield and the seal looked okay. Very frustrating. I retested a few days later and there were no leaks.
I still find water on the carpet in the passenger footwell, I suspect it is condensation from the air conditioner, which runs in winter when I'm running the defroster when its raining.
