Default More power

I'm in the market for more power and currently have a stock 2008 Z51 with a cold air intake as the only performance mod.

Options

1) Sell and buy an modded C6 Approx 8K upgrade
2) Install Headers and a new intake and Tune HP gain? Approx $3500
3) Install ECS supercharger $7K
4) Perform 2 and 3 Approx $11k

Money is a concern along with resale value. I would love a 100HP for $3k but don't believe its possible, I'm just getting bored with the current performance and need a WOW factor.

go with the ECS kit and don't look back. you will have a LOT more power and will drive stock when you driving normal.
If you go with option 2 at the same time, you only need to tune once and you won't need the intake.
Unfortunately the mod bug never ends.

Yep, do "a" Supercharger and see if that works for you. You can always remove it to sell the car if it becomes an issue. Much harder to remove headers, cam, intake, etc.

If you are able I would go with the supercharger. That's my goal but my car will have to be built in stages as extra money becomes available. Good luck!

Supercharger sounds like just what you want. A huge gain in power and fun factor!

So It's OK to supercharge and keep the stock NPP Exhaust? I could always upgrade latter and and have ECS mail order a updated Tune to account for the headers. Does a Supercharger from ECS perform similar to the new Z06? I have never driven a C6 that has been supercharged but have driven the new Z06.
Thanks

10 mins on your car to tune the stock LS-3 to bump the Hp to 460, stop the TM from hobbling the power making it to the ground all at once, and remap your throttle and throttle response; you would screaming on how the car has too much HP and UN-drivable isntead.

So what is needed, is not just more HP, but to de-soccer mom the car to the degree that you can still handling the 460hp on tap power instead.

You don't absolutely have to have headers if that's the question. Plenty on here are running over 1000rwhp on the factory axle back system.. though they are running long tube headers

I'm running the stock LS7 manifolds/cats/NPP axle back on mine with ECS supercharger. They can be had for cheap since people take them off to upgrade to long tubes

Are you leaving some power on the table with the factory exhaust? Of course. But that doesn't mean you have to change it.

You will need a custom tune. ECS can give you something to start the car and get to a tuner no problem but beyond that you need a competent shop to do the tune.

The new C7 ZO6's are so TM hobbled to save the drive line so you don't blow them up, it's not funny. Hence it was bad enough in the C6 ZR1, but GM went even farther special soccer mom friendly on the C7 to cut instant HP isntead.

Bluntly, dehobbled, the c7 z06 can play sit and spin on the line without moving, through all it gears when the motor is allowed to do so instead.

Depends on how long you have owned your car. Of course there is always a risk when starting with a modified car if they did it how you wanted to do it, and how well it was built and taken care of. If you have had your car a long time you already know what is right and wrong with it.

what you didn't say is how much power you wanted to make and how you wanted to drive the car? Maybe a blower is right, maybe it isn't. Maybe a different kind of blower would be better suited to what you are doing with it.

Gaining 100+rwhp for that price..yes a blower is going to be about the only way to go.
