Ok I’m trying to get an ATI Harmonic Balancer for my 06 Z06. The stock balancer is 6 Rib in front and a 4 Rib A/C. Everywhere I look I keep getting an 8 Rib and 4 Rib A/C. I can’t run a 6 Rib built on an 8 Rib ATI Harmonic Balancer can I? I’ve check everywhere and I can’t find anything. Can someone help me out or let me know if I’m crazy.

Why can't you just use 6 ribs of the 8?

On the cheapo Summit C2501 balancer that some (including me) use, they actually have 8 ribs, but the extra 2 are towards the rear of the car and are unusable.. but they're still there. So we are all using a 6 rib belt on a balancer with 8 grooves.

So, I don't see why you can't just use 6 of 8 for now.

I wasn't sure if you could run a 6 rib belt on an 8 rib Harmonic balancer. It just thrown me off that the ATI is 8 rib and not 6.

Well if it's working for you then I don't see why it won't work for me but I will get better clarification.

They only make a 8 rib so you can use it on a NA car or blower car. Just use your 6 rib belt on it.

You are fine. Just have to pick std diameter or underdrive.

Im using a 8 rib overdrive damper right now n/a with a 6 rib belt.it works fine.but Im goin blown in a couple of months and it will be a 8 rib setup.

As said before, a 6 rib belt on an 8 rib pulley is balancer is fine.

Just make sure the belt is on the back of the balancer. The 2 ribs in front should be unused.
