Hey there, recently i had gotten my 06 vette harmonic balancer changed and while it was being changed they ran the check engine codes and mentioned the tps was acting up.
Afterwards, new harmonic balancer and the check engine light were all good. BUT while driving away from the mechanic. When i start my car it rev's up to like 2k rpm and stays at 1.5k rpm. And while driving down the road if i accelerate to 45mph the car will literally stay at 45mph WITH MY FOOT OFF THE GAS like cruise control or as if its driving itself????? (it didn't do this before i went to the mechanic to fix my harmonic balancer, they also said they cleaned up my throttle body)
Side notes:
- there is no longer a check engine light, but obviously something is wrong.
- Has my TPS gone bad? IF so do i have to buy a new throttle body or can i just buy a new tps and replace it.
didn't even think of a vacuum leak nice thinking. So how do i test if it is a vacuum leak? they took off the intake and cleaned it out so good chance they goofed up something.

Couple of ways.. the more "correct" way is to use a smoke machine to fill the whole intake/manifold/etc. with smoke and you'll see smoke come out wherever there's a leak
The more DIY guy method is to spray brake cleaner or something like that on places it might be leaking. If idle RPM changes then there's your leak
That does seem to make sense though if they were messing with the intake.

Did you ask to remove the intake and throttle body to be cleaned? makes me wonder if you still have the same tb.
Also look at the power brakes vacuum connection if it broke (which is easy) and was glued intake will have to be scrapped these are only possibilities of course if vacuum connections and all possible leak sources are sealed.
The shop however is responsible to at list find out why you are having the problem.
Have you performed the Idle Relearn? It is recommended anytime you remove the TB..
How do i perform this? For i didn't remove the throttle body the shop i went to had removed it and cleaned it, so they might not have done it.
ALSO another question, are the original throttle bodies serialized with the car? Because if so i can check the numbers and if they are different then top flight corvette must have switched me a bad throttle body.

Start your car.Turn on lights,ac.rear defroster and anything else you might have..Let it idle for 2 1/2 minutes then shut it off for 1 minute then repeat the first step. Want hurt to try it.No..The TB is not numbers matching to your vette. Good luck.....NOTE> Your vette has a sliver blade TB.

Reason: add
After inspection for a vacuum leak, nothing was found and the RPM doesn't stay constant like a normal vacuum leak would. The rpm's change very slowly after the idle rev start up. And it is sluggish on reacting to me pushing on the gas pedal which leaves me only with the option that my TPS is going bad and unfortunately have to buy a new throttle body :\

The number on your TB should me 12570790 for LS2.The TB is pricey. I would get a ported and polished TB like a V-Max for $150.00,that is what I did about 2 years on my 08 and I like it.

you have a link my friend for maybe going with that option?
