C6 transmission upgrade

The Z06/GS/ZR1 all have a bigger ring and pinion but you are limited to a 3.42 rear gear ratio and I would try and use that gear if possible and I think you should be ok with it. You will get a lot more life from it.
Now you already have the Z06 gear box and it is not a bad box, and the ratios are going to be better than a Z51 setup for sure. I would look to add in a shorter 5th gear if the budget swings and you need 5th for the tracks you are running (say faster than 150 mph depending on tire and Redline).
If you had any choice but it had to be an H pattern I would have done the close ratio ZR1 gear box and then pick a diff based on the track, even if it meant going to a smaller ring and pinion just means you might need to keep a spare and they would have to be rebuilt more often.
i have discussed this with a few experts here looking at the dyno sheet to see where the engine is making power & have decided to go for a 4.10 diff ratio. I have seen the diffs LG's have on the web site.
my new close ratio gearbox has 30 spline output shaft. I know the G2 performance diff will match up to the gearbox but my question is will my axles of a standard C6 2006 model fit one of these diffs.
cheers

C5, C6 to around 2010/11 all interchange. I have C5, C6 and GForce axles and have the GForce in my car today.

In our race cars we could barely get 5-6 hrs of track time out of a OEM bearing. GM did a "race" bearing for teams for a number of years and we could see double the life with those over OEM bearings but the SKF's can go almost 35-40 hrs of hard race use before they need to be replaced. Well worth the money for track cars.
