Default Problems installing Airaid intake.

I started installing an airaid intake on my 07 base that I purchased from another member on here. It came with only the filter and intake tube and a coupler. I may be missing a few pieces including the air dam, weatherstrip and the hump hose. I have also read on the website that some of these intakes may directly bolt into the stock setup. I am new to vettes and mods all together so I am unsure if I can drive the car like this even though it seems to be running fine. I cannot get the intake to line up properly and the gromets are sitting about an inch in front of the pins. has anyone else had this happen or should I remove the intake and put the stock one back on? any insight would be appreciated

Thanks!

It's meant to replace factory part you retained.

its missing a coupler, theres one that replaces the stock accordion piece. also missing the "air dam" unless you didnt put it on.

imo id get rid of it and get a true cold air intake, that style doesnt really do much more than what the stock intake did.

The piece that replaces the factory accordion coupler is what will get it right. Disagree with the same as stock remark as the LS2 factory air box is a diasaster. Any reputable tuner will tell you replacing it is step one.

Replacing it with a cold air intake is step one...this is a hot air intake, same hot air that the stock intake breaths, same hot air that will cause timing retard. Now, propping the shroud will feed cool air to it, and has been proven to make a difference...while moving of course. All this one will do is get a little more engine noise and less filtration.

Been discussed many times in many threads, I wouldn't lie to ya.

Do the Vette Air mod and get the cooler air to the filter.
