Do you know why they said to use the stock stat and not a 160? The dealer said its for emissions. So basically if I used the stock stat with the a/c fans on then I should achieve those approximate temps. The center front chin spoiler was missing because the P.O. Must have it a high curb when parking so the part came in and they will install it for me. That little air dam should make the car slightly cooler as the flow of air will now be directed into the radiator. Lucky I saw that before I bought the car. This car is lower than my old C4. I could barely get my head under the car to check everything. Another stupid question what is the stock stat for a 2007 ? Thank you

The stock stat is 187...They used a 180 high flow stat, and with the fan set to come on sooner it should run in the middle 190's when moving, many experts say 195 is the sweet point for these engines. The tuner said if they put in a 160 stat it would run to cool in the winter and the oil temp would take to long to warm up and that's not good!...This winter, the lowest temperature down my way only got down in the 40's.If I had a 160 stat without changing the fan table it will heat up as a normal, just takes a little longer....The air dams do no good in town. I took my torn up one's off 3 years ago and no change in coolant temp. They may help a little on the freeway at 75mph,my coolant stays at about 194/196 on the freeway even in the HOT summers down here, and that is ok with me.Enventr:Try a 180 Hypertech stat, it doesn't take very long to change it over.

Oil temps are somewhere near the 200 mark. The thermostat with the fans coming on earlier will keep the engine about 20 degrees cooler than the stock stat it comes with. The thermostat will do its job opening up at the lower temp, but the fans need to do their job to cool the water when at idle. With the combination of the stat and the tune it really does run about 20 degrees cooler at all times.

Thanks all. I will use a lower stat. This car is not a DD. I do not have to reprogram the fans because the A/C is almost always on. With the stock setup in traffic ,a/c on it hit almost 220 at a light. Too warm for me. I will change the coolent and stat soon. That should be an improvement. The radiator looks like it would be difficult to replace. Does the condenser have to be removed to replace the radiator ? The C4 to me was easier to replace. Hopefully I won't have to replace it.

No need to remove the condenser. Check out C6topless post on how to remove the radiator....If your radiator is not leaking no need to replace it.

Although I can't find a table of AC pressures that relate to cooling fan speeds, the cooling fan operates on the higher values of either the AC pressure or the ECT (engine coolant temperature). Assuming you are at that stop light and the AC pressure is only commanding the fan to 20%, which may be it's lowest setting, then the ECT will have to reach 203* just to increase the fan to 23%. So if the AC pressure, due to ambiant air temps and humidity, never commands as much as 50%, then ECT must reach 217* to be the higher value.
The bottom line is that you can't expect the AC values to control the ECT, since they will almost always be less than the stock fan settings. Reprogramming the fans to lower values will assure they will force the fans on at lower ECT.

AC pressure vs. fan %. Highest between this and fan % from coolant temp wins.

Thanks. I knew I'd seen that someplace, but totally forgot it was HP Tuners. The service manual only gives the high and low limits.

Thanks for the info. I'll try first the 180 hypertech first. Everything is stock in the car. My a/c is on everyday so the fans will be on . The stock stat opens at 189 and the hypertech opens at 180 so I may see a slight improvement.
