Default Pre-cut shroud

I recall seeing one on their site, but it was a while ago. I should go back and check and see if they still offer them.

Even at low speeds it gets what is considered cool air even if it's 95 degrees outside the engine bay that's still considered cool compared to the air it's sucking from the inside the engine bay. When the temps are at night 50-65 degree's out it's so fun to go on the highway accelerate 2-3 or 3-4, what a blast!
You'll love the vararam, it's not the prettiest CAI, but you wont feel gains like it delivers with any other mod for the dollar. That's what an eleven-year old engine bay looks like it with 57K on the clock, with vararam.( I cant wait for FAST and LT's_

If you don't get any gain while cursing the Blvd. then why put one on?

My point is I have never heard of a GS running any hotter than a base and there are a lot out there that have cold air intakes ...

and I thought that they all used the same shroud ( see attached picture of GS parts diagram ) which sure looks like the same one that is on a Base
I guess I am wrong ......

Part# 5 is the Baffle..A shroud is what covers the Fan.

A shroud can simply cover something, so what everyone on this forum refers to what GM calls a baffle, we call a shroud.
C6's have fan shrouds as integral parts of the fan.

Shrouds have been used on cars for decades and they are an important part of cooling the engine. I know everyone calls the baffle a shroud....No harm...No foul.

A CAI does not add much if any power , but it will stop the ECM from pulling timing because of the stock Air intake taking in hot under the hood air
You can feel this in the seat of your pants especially if you live in a hot climate

Dave
The stock tune with IAT's (intake air temps) at 86*F will pull -3* of timing and with IAT's at 95*F will pull -5*. Also, when the ECT (engine coolant temps) reached 212* timing is pulled -2*. Just FYI!
