Default Cam thoughts ??

Hi guys I need some help I'm thinking of having Livernois Motorsport do their 2c cam install specs are 224/236 .646/.646 117 lsa. I'll also be adding a cai and AHR headers my question is how do you think this cam would be with the stock stall, Livernois is telling me it will drive fine but I'm worried with a 900 rpm idle I'll be standing on the brakes at a light what do you guys think ?? By the way I have a automatic trans. 2012 Ls3 Grand Sport.

I have their stage 3 heads on my 07 LS2 with a very mild cam, they also have great customer service. A lot of members talk great things about this guy and his cam knowledge http://www.guerragroup.com/#!camshaft-help/c1mq5 also, I would PM https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...inmonster.html he is very knowledgeable as well. Good luck with your mods.

I have a Comp XER273 (224/230/114 .595 lift) that idles at 725. The car will idle at nearly 10MPH. At 900 RPM, nearly 400 RPM over stock, I would consider the impact at idle and hard breaked at a traffic signal, and shifting into drive or reverse from park.

Who said it will idle at 900 rpm? I doubt they would set it that high. That cam only has -4 degrees of overlap.

Livernois has some of the best customer service I've seen out of a shop. You won't be disappointed in them. BTW, who did you talk to over there? If you're serious about pulling the trigger, talk to Andy. He manages all of the builds/projects, and has hands on experience with all of their stuff. He's a busy guy, so you will have to leave him a message.

Times two on Patrick G idea any cam will work and make power but you want an specific purpose cam that will deliver the goods tell you what -you'll be sweetly satisfied heck is only $25. bucks.

Hey guys I was wrong on the cam specs I had the specs for the 2c high lift cam but the cam Livernois recommended was the 2c and the specs are 224/236 .646/.646 117 lsa. The person who put my package quote together defiantly said the idle rpm would be 900 but I can't see how that would be considered a good rpm with the stock stall but they say it is ,do you think I should ask someone else at Livernois just in case he might be mistaken ??

Who did you talk to? If it wasn't Andy, double check with him. He would know for sure, as he is directly involved during tuning/dyno testing.

And, yes Patrick G is good...but so is Livernois. Take a look at their YouTube videos, to see their size and capabilities.

I can use stock idle settings on a 220/240, 600/600, 118 so I really don't think it'd need to be 900 for that cam. Just my opinion though since I've never tried it personally and they surely have. If I leave mine at stock idle settings it will idle a bit rougher, move it up 50-100 RPM's and it smooths out.
