Several years ago we had a Miata, and I wanted to put on a performance exhaust but first installed a cold air intake. The exhaust note was gret and I didn't need the exhaust. I was wondering if a aftermarket CAI would improve the stock exhaust on our 2009 C6 LS3? Since the car is my wife's car, I don't want to go too aggressive. Slightly more sound ant idle and acceleration with a quiet cruise would. be nice! The stock exhaust on my 64 300HPS Stingray was great, but the \c6 is much quieter!

Thanks
CAI will not add anything to your exhaust sound , heck, it barely adds anything to the intake noise
I didn't like the sound of my stock exhaust at all, to quiet, I added CAI , headers , tune and NPP mufflers and now it sounds like a Corvette should .
The air intake adds nothing to the exhaust sound. What you probably heard on that Miata after you installed the cold air intake was actually the intake sound. Most of the air intakes for import tuner cars are made from aluminum piping with a cone filter, this piping deletes the factory resonator boxes/air boxes and really amplifies the air intake sound.
Back in my ricer highschool days when I was 17 I had a Honda Prelude and installed this type of air intake, everybody swore that car had an aftermarket exhaust but it didn't. It was quiet while cruising but loud as heck when I got on it. The air intakes for the c6's don't make the intake any louder, maybe a tad throatier but that's it. I've tried 3 different types, Airaid, K&N and finally Halltech.
If you want "Slightly more sound at idle and acceleration with a quiet cruise would" then a Corsa sport exhaust sounds like exactly what you need. Nice aggressive idle, quiet while cruising but has that nice roar when you get on it.
