Default What tires are you running at the strip?

Well I got my car on the track yeaterday. I didn't get very good results but the conditions where not ideal. The track was revamped over the down season. New concrete and asphalt so everyone was out there just spinning away.

I bought a set of 28" tall m&h 325 45 17s for my 08 z06 in hopes that the taller tire would help me hook up the 600 rwhp on motor and 803 rwhp on spray. Well my first passed I realized I messed up. I was shifting into 4th gear at the very end of the track. I have stock 3.45 gears in the car. The best I could muster was a 11.0 at 134 with a 2.0 60'. I couldn't launch the car at all without lighting the tires up. No nitrous runs.

Is anyone using this tire? I am not to impressed and I knew it was going to kill my gearing but damn lol.

Hoosier 275's will hold 600 HP and 315's will hold more at a lower pressure. I'm at 1.4x 60' with only a 394 HP LS3 bolt-on and 2.56 gear, so you should be real close to that on the launch and run away from that point. You'll still hit 4th gear, but a lot earlier.
