You have to put them in the rear with headers.

Here is my write up from long ago with pics and wiring tips. Let me know if you have any questions. I love my QTP cutouts, still use them just about every time I drive my car.

QTP cutouts are great, had one on my last car just after the turbo on the downpipe. Super reliable product and sounded awesome.

If I were going to put them on my Vette, I would replace the cats with them Who needs cats anyway

If you have stock manifolds you can add QTP in the area under the tunnel, but headers use this area for collectors. If you mount them up there they make a low profile oval cutout that works well.

I personally wouldn't put them there, I'm not fond of exhaust coming out right under the cabin, and I do like catalytic converters as I don't like to smell like gas when I'm done driving my car. If you mount them in the rear like I have them, you must install turndowns to keep the exhaust off the leaf spring - if you don't the leaf spring will fail from the heat. But if you direct the exhaust to the ground, not only does it sound great in the cabin - a nice deep sound as you can hear in my video, but the leaf spring will be fine, I've had cutouts for almost 10 years now.

Some places (like my friend in Sweden) do not allow muffler bypasses on inspection (not sure how Ford gets away with it in the Mustangs, a model has them). Check your local laws, my friend in Sweden had to cap his before each inspection.
